I don't know if you rubbed the lamp wrong or it was right, author. What I do know is if the stimulus check is coming, maybe or Trump is the only one coming, probably. :) He will probably pass it when losing is so near that maybe praying for a Hail-Mary will win the score. :) Good offering for the Repetition Poem contest.

I usually don't like long poems but this one captured me with its light treatment of this complex time. The repetion is apy and rhymes are not strained

I loved this one and if I had six stars left, I would award it to you. This is such a fun read. Your illustration, of course, pairs perfectly and sets the stage for your words. Very nicely done.

'then shot to me an angry glance.' What BAD LUCK. Finding a magical lamp with a genie with an attitude!

'"My money's tight, I've took a hit,...' And with financial woes.

'I pawned that lamp, got money fast,...' Yes. I think that this was the wise thing to do!

I think this write is clever and certainly heartfelt. You were able to have a bit of a rant and wrap it all up in a bit of humor. 2020 has provided a fair bit of that! Nice job.

You know what? I think you found a genie in a lamp!
Very nice repetition poem. But those wishes, even the very humble ones, will not be rewarded by the genie, simply because the genie is a pipe dream. Try to get things done, get somewhere, fulfill some dreams? Don't rely on genie. Elbow grease and hard work, some praying to our Lord and giving up hope. That might work.
