A very well-written Lantern poem about the wrongs of the past that most people condemn in these modern times. Unfortunately, there is another much worse evil happening in our time that most people ignore, that is human and child traficking and abuse.

During my twenties I used to listen to Billie Holiday frequently. She was an enormous talent and her Strange Fruit song held a rich depth of such unspeakable sorrow for racism and injustice.
And of course the gardenia in her hair was her signature.
