It's not until I read a descriptive experiential poem such as yours, that it occurs to me that many do not have the double-edged honor to have these experiences. It's getting colder fast in Vermont at night. So I've been already diving into my hot chocolate supply. It's one of the best parts of winter. You have nicely captured everything.

'Instead of flowers, frost icicles will bloom.' This is my favorite line!

It is amazing that each 'season; has its traditional activities the bring individual amusements to be enjoyed.

Well done.

Thank you for your poem. "Peejay attire" has to be my favorite phrase. I really like your description and how the poem flows through an entire winter day.

Sincerely,

Nice work in the acrostic form--doesn't sound forced like many do--fresh and clever imagery: wheezing wind--alliteration!--frost icicles blooming. Good luck. Cheers. LIZ

I just love this stanza, it represents the beauty of winter:"Wind wheezes chill breath as it tries to entomb;
Instead of flowers, frost icicles will bloom.
Nature is resting, wrapped up in warm coats,
Topped off with hats, and scarves around throats.
Enjoying some sport in fresh air if we dare,
Rosy cheeks flushing, we skate 'round the rink,
" Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.

A very well-written Acrostic poem about the winter treats we enjoy despite the cold temperatures the white snow is akways the best surprise in the morning. The wonderful hot drinks and treats to stay warm at the fire place.

This is a great contest entry, Mystery Writer. I love the color scheme--very wintry. The image is supportive, too. Your words flow smoothly with good rhymes and great imagery. I could see this as I read it. I like the way you used a different color for the first letter of each line.

May I suggest:

peejay--->pj

Best wishes.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan
