Good afternoon, Annie
Your poignant poem I'm sure will strike a chord with many of those who have lost a loved one, myself included.
Much expressed in few words.
kind regards

"Loss Takes A Toll" is short, succinct and very much to the point. With a minimum of words, this talented poet has told it as it is. Good luck with the contest! My fingers are crossed for you.

Any loss of a person whom we are related to as family or friends does take its toll on our soul. Have a blessed week.

Well stated Annie. Thought the line about loss " Bruising the soul" was very profound . Very impressed by how you were able to take these deep thoughts and articulate them so well in this piece.

I am sorry that anyone has to experience this. Your little poem expresses the deep pain as a bruised soul in only 3 lines. Good job!. Very effective word choice there!

Hi, this is a sad and thought provoking poem and one that my mother experienced with my sister Majorie who died of menigitus at a young age in the 60s when it was at its height. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest. Kind regards Colin

This review is very much appreciated. I know this has hit home with many as it happens far too many times to far too many children. So many lives cut short is a real tragedy.

Your image choice, poignant words, and author notes all work together to create a memorable poem of loss and how it affects each person. Your few syllables, as required, crate great imagery--probably many will identify with this--even if all do so differently.
Best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan

I like this poem. I am not perfect at syllable count, I count 8 syllables in line 2. The poem and the picture give the sense of loss. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you. You are the only one who caught that error which I have corrected. That is why we review and so many just glean over. I appreciate your honesty. Thank you again.

No matter how you spin it, death is an enemy of man who loves life. Remember, even though Jesus knew that he was going to restore Lazarus' life. He still mourned the death of his dear friend. Probably because he knew that Lazarus was going to die again and would go the grave for a much longer time. I believe that the day is coming when most of the people who have died will be resurrected. I still miss and mourn all who have died. Death has robbed us of their presence for now, and we too face the prospect of our own death.

That sounds awful Annie. It must be worse than losing an arm, because with an arm it's not a living soul, one might get used to it, but a day wouldn't go by when you think of what would that child be doing today. My sister lost a small boy who died in her arms in America of all places (we're Australian) Well done Annie, good luc, blessings, Roy
