Smiles to you for comparing poetry to pizza, I make an home made pizza every Monday for our dinner. You made me smile when I read -- Then there are times
it's just plain and delivered cold.
That is why I make pizza; I want it hot it makes taste so
supreme. Yes I know a play on words

Ciao poet.... gave you my vote.. You have 5 now!

Such an unexpected definition but it worked for me..

Most of the times my " pizze " are plain and cold but just once in a while my poem actually comes out perfectly

The combination of words / ingredients amalgamate deliciously ... It's a true delight.

It's a great feeling to know I wrote something that touched , overwhelmed someone.

This reminds me of Eve Merriams poem How to Eat a Poem. Yum. Your reader will be drawn in to bite into your metaphor. Some poems are spicey, a challenge to take in. Others are mild and won't cause an irritation. Well planned.

I like my pizza as your illustration shows (-; I refuse to eat cold pizza. My brother did in the morning - ugh!

I recognize that Poetry's is a contraction for Poetry is, but methinks it can be written without the apostrophe and carry the same meaning.

Mark

Hello my friend

Interesting and humorous poem about writing and pizza metaphor. You followed the rules of the contest well. It's a fine entry for the Find a creative definition for poet writing prompt contest. Good luck in the contest.

Dear Dragon, you have found a wonderful analogy for this poetic challenge. Indeed if you had been allowed more lines you could have gone on and on.
The words spicy, good, and gooy, come to mind

Hahaha. Yes, those would be great words to use. Thank you so much for the fantastic review, Suzanna. I was actually eating cold pizza when this silly idea came to mind. Lol. I appreciate the gracious stars, S. I'm glad you liked this ridiculous piece. Have a wonderful night.

Mr. Skulls,

Well, I did the math. One foodie plus one abstract poet equals a pizza post on poetry. Way to take it outside the pizza box. lol Yes, poetry is either smoking hot or right out of the fridge. You forgot the lukewarm stuff still on paper plates waiting for you on the kitchen table the next day. Iffy on the downside, suspect at best. Come on. You know you've eaten that before.

Great job bringing it home, dude. And I agree with Lightink that "Then there are times" would be an advantageous alteration. (alliteration!) HAHA. Fortunately I bought a pizza at the store this morning. I was going to save it for the weekend but it's going down tonight. This picture made me hungry!

Thanks for the laugh. Well done, sir. Lynda

Wow. I sure never planned on a sixer for my cold lunch analogy. Haha. I was eating cold pizza for lunch when I came up with this ridiculous idea and just had to roll with it.

    'Outside the pizza box.' Hahaha.

I already fixed the goof. I was just tired from working all night.

I agree, the pizza in this pic looks flat out deeeeelicious. I'm sure it's a lot better than the cold cardboard I was gnawing on last night. Lol.

Thank you so much for the hilarious review and huge sixer, Lynda. You made my day. I'm glad you liked this silliness. Thank you again.

LOL! What is it about you and pizza these days? ;)
The pandemic must have deprived you of your favorite pizza!

I love the approach to this prompt...it's funny, and refreshingly unusual! The simile works perfectly! Of course now everyone will wonder if you find theirs to be Supreme ;).
(Darn it, I'm getting hungry, that image got me :).

Just one quick grammar question: "There's times' or 'there are times'?
(English is my sec language, so I'm not sure if it's off or I'm the one missing something).

Fun poem, the creativity of it might be hard to beat!
Warmly,
J

Hey, Jyoti, hello. I was actually eating some cold pizza for lunch at work when this idea came rolling along. Lol. I just had to go with it.

My last pizza piece was a dozen writes back. I figured I gave enough space between the two to go with pizza again. Haha.

Yes, I had it incorrect. I worked all night and I was tired when I posted this silliness. 'There are times' is correct. I fixed it.

Thank you so much for the awesome review and stars, J. I'm glad you had a chuckle at this ridiculous piece. Have yourself a great night, or day, wherever you may be.

Of course! I only see the pieces with your name that are not part of a blind contest...So, for me the last two poems of yours had pizza in it. (Poseidon and poetry) :). I hope you know it wasn't criticism just me getting silly. Also, I hope you get a hot Supreme pizza next time!

    Take good care,
    J
