The poet expresses the spirit of many readers. They will be drawn in to see how they can identify. Sometimes the poem develops into a universal spirit. Sometimes the metre, rhyme, or image enhances certain spirits. Well worded.

You have summed up the whole essence of poetry really well, in an admirable economy of words and with an appropriate choice of illustration. "Poetry delineates our spirit" is so true, both in writing it and for what we get out of it when we read it.
