Hello Yvette :)
I enjoyed your crazy poem, but I think I'll decline your invitation! Spotty, herbal tea doesn't really float my boat LOL.
Perfectly rhymed and great use of enjambment and alliteration throughout.
Good luck in the contest!
Best wishes as always, Debra :)

Good luck in the rhyming poetry contest, Yvette. This was very interesting to read, it truly covered everything imaginable and then some. It was both enjoyable and even entertaining. Oh I do hope your weekend got better or at least you have a great week.

Because I know what you are hinting at here, this makes this a must for the contest win. I dearly hope it wins, but more importantly, calls attention to the absurdity that America has accepted on the streets of Portland, New York, and Seattle. It's been a violent never ending freak show with no end in sight. Welcome to the nightmare with news reporters claiming these are peaceful protesters... looters taking what is owed them... setting fire to buildings with people in them? An Orwellian nightmare.... Excuse me for pontificating, dear. I'm aghast really.
Sending you my best today as always, and best wishes
for the contest
Sal XOs.......

Aghast does not begin to touch the feelings... anger, sadness, gosh - utter disbelief.... But I shall not dwell there today as I'm gonna pin on my smile and try to spread it! ;) :) Good morning, Lady Sal -- apologies for the delay, but you know the reasons... thanx for your support, my lady!! ;) Take care out there as summer closes and Fall rolls in this month! ;) Yvette

Metaphorically speaking, I don't think I understand, but it does bring back memories of college. Nice rhyming and flow. Intriguing visual. Very nice.

Among my favorite lines from college, "I hate it when somebody has drugs and they don't share." Another, "If you can remember the 60s, you weren't there!" We Boomers had a life, did we not? Then, after the Navy, I just settled down to work, fatherhood and boring behavior. My wife and her sisters still laugh about having become just like their mother. Lots of laughter. So, we leave Monday for 7 weeks in the motorhome thru Yellowstone, Utah, Grand Canyon. Just old Boomers in a camper with 2 spoiled dogs. Life IS good! Great to hear from you! Like laughs? I have two entries right now which will make you laugh; rhyming poem and how I write poetry. Enjoy!

You played a lovely tune over the weekend, Yvette. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :) Life must be treating you to the richness you deserve. ;) I like how you write when you write using metaphors. I love banana splits, they give life an extra lift. Yet, when it's not possible to have your cake and eat it, well a merry tune will do.

Whatever I just had, I'll have another. I think the white rabbit did a number on Alice in this one! Great vivid psychedelic imagery and whimsical tone. The image definitely went well with it too! I think I need a disco nap now.

Just what we need to deal with the stresses of life these days! A spoonful of absurdity is just what doctor ordered. I love the artwork- thanks for brightening up my Monday.

This poem, Measured Absurdity, presented in iambic tetrameter and an ABAB rhyme scheme, takes the reader back down the rabbit hole for an adventure which is, too say the least, unique. Fun stuff.

A very well-written rhyming poem trying to have a good time after much stress is always the best way to rewind from the stress that can make us feel too much pressure.
