Oooh,La La indeed! I could 'hear' the music with this one, friend. You made the most of a scarce twenty-five words, and if I wasn't so late reviewing it, this poem would be rated with six stars as it so deserves! (As it is, though, the rating would not help to promote it to that front page now...*sigh*! But I need you to know, I feel the rhythm, and "Blame It On The Bossa Nova" is running through my head as I type. Fabulous!)

I like the words you use in this piece. They give off a sassy beat ad description and make me feel like I am at the lake sunbathing and playing around in the water.

"All those saucy cicada vibrations
mixed in with a crisp mockingbird beat"
What a 'sound' picture these two lines develop!
Best of luck in the contest.

Hello,
I love your 25 lines poem. Also, I visited the Jazzpiano website. Very nice. I play a little piano myself. My dog, Energy is my favorite fan. Your poem shares a nice mixture of the cicada vibrations and a crisp mockingbird beat. The Bossa Nova is a style of Brazilian music which is so exotic and riveting. It also means a new wave of music. I think, it's similar to samba. I enjoyed reading your poem. Well done. Happy future writing:-)

This is a wonderful poem - with a sprinkling of alliteration, full of imagery from nature and music to capture the sound and energy of summer. Colour coordination makes for an attractive presentation.
(I remember 'Blame It On the Bossa Nova' by Eydie Gorme - terrific song.)

Comment from Melissa Russell Deur
This is a wonderful, rhythmic poem that captures the essence of the beat of Nature's jazz. I love the cicadas' vibrations contrasted with the crisp mockingbird beat. (I know there is a real musical term for this: contrapuntal? - I don't know). But I moved in my chair as I read it!
