I did not see the pen poking the eye. I saw a metaphor. The writing of one's pain makes the reader cry along with the writer of the poem or prose. Sometimes I have had tearstains on my writing when I journaled. The red here could symbolize life's blood disappointments.

I love the artwork. And I did not think the quill was poking. Beautiful!
A perfect picture for your poem.

Thank you for the great review, RS. I actually went in and added a little more to the pic so it looks better now. I just haven't taken out the author noted yet. I appreciate the stars, friend. Have a great rest of your weekend.

However this illustration was taken in perspective, the words still ring true and seem most poetic. I thought this was very skillfully and artfully done. Best wishes in the contest.

A very well-written seven word poem. We use the quill to clean up our bleeding heart. That us the best way to find peace in your heart and soul when you write about what is bothering your mind.

This poem is a great entry for the Seven Words or Less Poem writing prompt. There is great truth in a few words. I see it as you painted it--quill over the eye, not poking it. Best of luck in the contest!

Let those words touch the page and stay forever as the quill bleeds with either joy or sorrow. Your words resonated with me as we write, write, write, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Hello Mystery Writer,
A wonderful use of only seven words to create and send a powerful message to writers and readers. I usually do not comment one's artwork, but your chosen artwork is stunning!
Thank you for sharing!
Best Wishes!

Thank you for the fantastic review and gracious stars, Diane. I actually took a few different pictures from google images and used my art program to come up with this. I usually spend more time creating a picture to use than the words I wrote. Lol. I'm glad you liked this little piece. Thank you again.

You made excellent use of your seven words. This is a very different way to encourage a poet to follow their heart when writing. Beautiful art you created to go with it. Very well done. Lynda

The artwork certainly has set the stage for the words that followed. Our pens can do many things. Best of luck in the seven words or less contest. Best regards.
