Vermont is the lowest per capital Covid cases. There are a few who weren't wearing masks but now it is a law. I've been pleased to see people complying. Then we have droves of kool-ade drinkers sitting together . A definite no-no.

I read that school is already back in swing in California but from home .. a wise decision.
In many poor countries , communities reaching the closest school is quite a feat each day ..
These children don't have the option to follow school at home via Internet... Many don't have TV either , to keep informed, updated.
This pandemic has made life for the poor even harder.... living in 5/6 together in a makeshift shelter they call home. ...no toilet and with no running water ..
We are lucky we can protect ourselves ..
I see your point but in their case , living condition make it impossible to follow safety protocols.

My quick impression based on the photo was that your poem would be about the danger of overloading a cable crossing a river. It is instead, a warning about contemporary instructions aimed at keeping us safe, or else we will all fall into the abyss of contamination.
Your poem is somewhat ambiguous - it could be seen to be saying NO to the very items that are being advised to help us.

I don't know what predicament these children were in to feel the need to cross a river using a rope and a hand over hand technique. I don't see any alligators or crocodiles. Maybe piranha? Desperate times do call for desperate measures. Good luck in the contest.
