You did a great job explaining your greatest fear. It was easy to follow your reasoning. Your words were filled with good imagery and smooth flow. Perhaps your description needs to read . . . afraid of (not in).
Thanks for sharing and best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan

"In an attempt to take control of this fear, I began writing horror stories. I try to channel that fear of death into something useful." Wow! You are right. That is rather ironic.
I enjoyed the read.
Best of luck in the Your Greatest Fear writing contest.

It is strange indeed. Thank you for your review.

This story about fear, My Greatest Fear, touches on the one we all probably have-- the unknown of death. Having sensed and thought all our lives it is impossible to imagine nothingness.

It sounds like you had a serious problem that perhaps you've overcame. The Lord is the only one that can give one peace and an assurance that their is something after this life. He gives you a living hope. This is good work and I enjoyed reading this well written work. Well done!

This is a powerful entry for the Your Greatest Fear writing prompt. It is indeed a real situation for you, and one that you have to mentally guard against. Best of luck in the contest!

Dear Mystery Writer,
Fear of dying is horrible. I've had to deal with this during some of my worst bouts with depression - and it's something that's hard to describe to people. I get it.
I saw a couple of nits here and made some notes for you:
1.) I am afraid of nothingness. I use(d) to cry alone in my room,
2.) it power over me and prevents me from living (while) I am still alive.
3.) to think that my fear of death is what (led) me to the path in life
Thanks for sharing. Good luck!

This was a very honest piece of writing. I personally don't fear death, but the one thing I do fear above all else is time. It really scares me how quickly it moves and there's nothing we can do about it. A well written, engaging piece. Good luck in the contest.

Time does seem to move faster as you get older.
