The reason we are "still" is because we wear masks. Some are "no longer" I'd rather be "still". Some are very weary of your personified still" but it becomes a cautionary tale is not adhered to. I am happy to say, we in Vermont have the lowest incidents per capita. People just have to stand strong.

Sounds like you're misreading my piece here, Liz. I am for wearing the masks and wonder why people are STILL resistant to them, even now.

i was reading your message to be how many many are feeling, pardon my political ilk, the reps, that this is all too much anymore. They may be the ones who bring us into the 2nd. wave. Although some can't be tired; theynever began. I sensed it was a form of satire because you are definite pro-mask.

I love the picture tht you have chosen to go with this piece. It says so much about the time we are in. I often wonder why we must all wear mask myself. They cause us to touch our faces even more.

I found the lettuce mask comical. I saw a mask on TV made out of a milk jug once. LOL! Your poem is very nice and it hits close to home. We all must protect ourselves. Some people don't understand or comply. Yet we must remain safe. You spoke volumes with so few words. Thank you for addressing such an important issue.

Hello, anonymous,
Great entry for the 2-6-2 writing prompt contest. Good syllable count and connection between lines. It flows well. The topic is very relevant. The presentation is funny...I love the picture. Good luck in the contest.

I don't get either. Why should we be STILL asking that question? It is obvious that the masks provide protection to minimize the spread of the virus.
There are people who are just rebellious, but until they lose loved ones and/or encounter the virus themselves, they would adhere. Hopefully, it won't be too late.
You obviously did an amazing job with this short piece. Whenever a short can evoke such profound emotions, it did its job. Good luck in the contest.

Funny picture, but I hope you don't take your own advice. Wearing masks saves not only others it helps you against those who don't wear one. I blame the president for not making it mandatory.

The thrust here is why won?t people get a clue and put the mask on when necessary. It?s not about them, it?s about us. Yet, still morons persist. Humans, right?
Comment from Dolly'sPoems
The wearing of masks is controversial and some believe it works and others don't, the few statistics we have confirm that this protection has made a difference in this global pandemic, I wear mine, food for thought here, love Dolly x

This is an easy to read, easy to understand poem entry for the 2-6-2 Poetry contest. It should do well. I wish you the best of luck!

This is what I keep trying to tell everyone! I wouldn't use lettuce but yeah masks are important. Those who say otherwise are either idiots or are tired of their glasses fogging up.
