There will always be people who make lame arguments for their lack of belief. The Lord will never say, "Welcome to Heaven. It's somebody else's fault you didn't believe!" Your poem is well-written and sends a powerful message.

Excellent poem about faith. I avoid religious arguments with people, but I have noticed that many many young people have absolutely no faith in God, and most think there is not one. These are the ones I have spoken to, I can't speak for all young people. Sometimes I think that nothing has happened to them yet that has made them reach for some type of a higher power. They may change their feelings then! Wonderful poem.

We are at the point where we are dealing with a generation we have let down by not speaking up for Christ. We need to stop worrying about what people think of us and more about being true to Him. After all, we are following the perfect loving Savior who was nevertheless hated and crucified for speaking God?s truth.

I like how the message of this poem was clear and declarative. However, I think there are some structural components that could be enhanced to make the poem flow a little better. For instance, I feel that a few of the rhymes are forced. In the last stanza, "Him" is rhymed with itself. This poem may not be set to any strict syllable rules, but the line "How silly and hypocritical, to let THEM decide for you," has 15 syllables as opposed to the 12-13 syllables on the lines surrounding it. With these fizes to the structure and maybe a few more, I think the poem will be great.

A very well-written poem about believers who choose who and when to believe. We should believe in good times and even more in bad times, and never forget to say thanks when He gets us through the hard times.

Your poem actually expressed the common response of many people today to the call to salvation through Christ. Well composed and perfectly rhymed. I am glad to see people who are bold to spread the Good News through their work. Regards

Is this your first poem? I love it! Great job with one of the oldest arguments. I'm sure God has heard this many times. I know I have, and it really is such a shame. Why let another's unbelief take you to hell in agreement? I see a lot of this in these end times. A good word for today. Sending you my best today as always,
Sally :))

I'm not sure exactly what the underlying theme was or who you're referring too in your poem. It did rhyme, make sense, was spiritual, and toucjhes the reader emotionally. Very nice job.

Well, in between your not knowing the underlying theme and who I was referring to, I am glad it made sense! :)
    Thanks, Earl, I think...:)

I found this argument so worthy. We have all heard the nay-sayers before, and faith/spiritual belief is so difficult to explain to those who don't have it. I read your poem aloud the first time, silent the second, and thank you for sharing it. Especially solid: The fact of counterfeit, among the real twenty/Never stopped anyone from saying, "Give me plenty!

Well done.

This is such a poignant and true poem. It kept my attention from beginning to end. I continued to say, "Yes, so true!" as I read it. This is a wonderful poem!
