I found this story very touching and moving. You described so well the pain and regret we feel when we lose a loved one. The little girl's emotions were portrayed so vividly and are easy to relate to. The bluebird picture added a perfect compliment to this story as well. I also agree with what you wrote about every day being a great time to say nice things ro our loved ones. Best wishes in the contest!

What a beautiful and sad story in the same time. A bluebird that is a reminder of the mother that left this earthly attire. Sometimes the best way to healing is to ask for forgiveness. Thank you for sharing and got luck with the contest.

Thank you lza for reading my story and for the very nice review.
There are many things in life we don't fully understand. There is much said about a; butterfly, Cardinal and even a dragonfly. My Mom before she passed, could go out to the pool area and hold her finger out for a short period of time, and a butterfly would land on her finger. Unfortunately, the picture I had was lost in a move.
If the story touches one person, and helps them say something positive to a loved one, then the story has done its job.
Thanks again for reading.

This is a great entry for the Through the eyes of a child writing prompt. It drew me in from the beginning to the end. I hope this story does well in the contest. Good luck!

Thank you Rebecca for reading my entry and for the very nice review.
I appreciate your detailed comments as to how it grabbed you. In case you are wondering what she is going to bring next time - her mother loved Sesame Crackers, and I'm sure the Bluebird will too. Please don't tell anyone else about what she is going to bring.
Thanks again,
