Oh man, this is the best 2-4-2 poem ever, IMHO. I will be amazed if I am not reading the winner right now... I love it! The presentation is gorgeous too. Best of luck!

This is totally beautiful...so much truth within these three short lines. There is no need to ever be swamped by sadness and despair because the hope of truth is always ready to be taken in for eternity. Best wishes in the contest!

This is a good use of 6 words. It asks us all to be the hope changing what is happening from bad to good. It ask for optimism.
Good luck with the prompt.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

Very good way Y. M. Roger to open our minds when it seems there is only darkness
What will be your answer to the chaos...?
My answer--
When there is a flicker of light there is always hope.

Thank you so much, Gert -- you are so right: we have to look for the light, don't we? It's necessary so that darkness doesn't engulf us! ;) Thanx so much for your review! ;)

So few words to express such a great thought, Mystery Writer. This is a great presentation--love the image, the color scheme, and the well-thought out true message.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan

Good job with the prompt. Good message too, considering the divisiveness today which make things so depressively dark. But hoping in man to fix things is a fools erand. (Psalms 146:3-5 Put not your trust in princes, Nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. 4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; In that very day his thoughts perish. 5 Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in Jehovah his God: [American Standard version])

A very well-written 2-4-2 poem about the bad situation we are facing and the feeling of doom and darkness hanging over our heads we can try to enlighten the world around with words of encouragement.

I like this little gem. The idea of being open to offering hope is a good one in the sense of true kindness as a trait, as described here in this poem. I rather think the image you chose reminded me immediately of an LDS artist named Gayla Prince-Wallace. The candle brought to mind her work called "The Ten Virgins," which probably all the teen girls had a copy of in the 1980s. Thanks for posting!

Such a wonderful honor to see those stars - THANK YOU so very much! And I looked her up, she does have some wonderful paintings.... that particular one being quite stunning with the detail she put into each of the young ladies... ;) ;) Sending you a shining smile to match the starlight you've sent my way - take care!

This is a nice positive poem, I enjoyed reading it. I'd like to think it inspires people to be nicer to each other, but I guess that's not guaranteed unfortunately given how divided society is getting these days. Thanks for sharing this and have a great day
