Fantastic first stanza. Really like the wording and the images it conjures. I'm a summer lover and when I was reading it, I actually had warm feelings for winter which I don't normally have.

Wow -- love the feel of this one, mystery author, as you've managed through words and rhyme to make the reader feel that loss again... just as those memories assail us all once in a while... Gotta tell you, though, this is a magical phrase in and of itself:

Spun from long suppressed memory lace

Beautiful poem, makes me reminiscent of Christmas, my favorite holiday. I wrote a poem about Christmas and Easter, pitting them against each other. I chose Christmas because if Christ had not been born there would not have been an Easter :) And I stick by that.
