Your contest entry reads well Your image plus words pair nicely. I enjoyed reading you poem. I like the play on the word spaghetti to describe the winding roads.
Thanks for sharing. Best wishes.

This is a very clever use of words, to mean something that we are not quite used to from them. Thus the imagery is very strong, and the reader's imagination is called into play. Well done.

I do like the "asphalt spaghetti" - that is a creative take on the winding roads and because the noodles are something we eat - the connection to needing a "strong stomach" is perfect. Best wishes in the contest!

Hello, anonymous,

Nice entry for the 5-7-5 writing prompt contest. Incorrect syllable count but good connection between lines. It flows well. The presentation is pretty. I like the satori line... it's clever.... Spaghetti asphalt lol

Thanks for reviewing. We'll have to disagree on the syllable count. I think you might think "Italian" is 4 syllables but it is 3 according to www.howmanysyllables.com

How many syllables in Italian? 3 syllables
    Divide Italian into syllables: I-tal-ian
    Stressed syllable in Italian: I-tal-ian
    How to pronounce Italian: Ih-tal-yan

Very well done descriptive translation of the Non-Straight roads in a lot of parts of the world, including my roads in the Appalachian mountains. "Asphalt Spaghetti" perfect mind pic. Best of luck in the contest. Best regards.

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem about the winding roads in Italy through the Alps you need a strong stomach to see the asphalt spaghetti where you come from or need to go.

Oh to be young and able to drive a sports car through those Alps. Indeed the route would be challenging. I love the metaphor you used in line three. Rod
