Ciao Rhonnie , I just voted your entry!

This covid nightmare has disrupted lives in so many way ..

The elderly and people with existing pathologies are the most at risk so family members were asked to keep their distance as a safety measure.

Then came weeks of lockdown .. and grandchildren started to miss their grandparents .. being young it was not easy to make them understand the reasons for this separation.

Your poem tells the story of one of these children that finally ,after lockdown protocols were removed, was able to see her grandma at least through a window ..

The tight squeeze is still on hold but being able to see and wave at each other is the first step towards a slow return to normality.

Reading your poem , I couldn't help thinking of all those people that died during the lockdown ..

...their families members were not able to comfort their love ones when they needed it most .. that's heart breaking.

This pandemic will scar people in many ways.

....Magnetised heart to heart.
Nothing can keep them apart...

Is my favourite two lines ..

This debunks the saying :
out of sight, out of mind

When there is true love .. not seeing a person only means you think and miss them even more.

Rhonnie, this is an excellent poem. The little girl is separated from her gramma because of COVID . How sad! And then she finally gets to see her gram. That's so sweet. It reminds me of my grammas , both long gone, who loved being grandmas. I'm glad the little girl gets to see gramma in the end.
Excellent poem, Rhonnie. Exceptional!
Blessings,
Cindy

You've touched an area most everyone has been affected. This plague has messed with families emotionally, mentally and, of course, physically separating them. I like the line, "magnetized heart to heart." Even this can't separate the love of family. Thanks for posting. One little nit: "Mommy's mommy she hasn't seen." Thanks for posting.

This is a very fun rendition of this contest. I loved your humor and wit and your masterful use rhymes and meter. Several parts of this almost made me laugh out loud. And what a killer picture that is.

One word - "Gramma" indeed! (lol)

This should do very well in the contest.
