The ocean is a beast. I used to surf when I was a young girl. I lived in Los Angeles and would take a bus with my surfboard every chance I got to go to the beach and surf. Then the ocean scared me one day and I got a taste of how dangerous it was. I almost drowned. Your poem brings back many memories for me. It is a powerful piece. I enjoyed it! Never became a board surfer but I can body surf pretty good.
I caught a nice one the other day and wrote it all the way into the shore so long I don't ran out of oxygen!
This little kid watched me and gave me the hi-5 sign with a thumbs up!
