Interesting. It is amazing how various things or memories can spark a poem and even a good novel. I like your poem and the stanzas are strong.
Of course I am partial to rainbows anyway.

You've captured the essence of writing whether poetry or a novel, we derive ideas from our life history. When the words flow from pen or keyboard it's like the feeling of a beautiful rainbow. I especially like the line, "Dreams of today will find breath tomorrow
