This nonet, It's Not Corona, has the proper nine to one descending syllable formatting and leaves me thinking it's Trump.

We have let lies, deception, and the enemy divide us, not just the virus. What has come on the wings of this, is the destroyer. We must stand together against lies and tyranny, and stand for for truth and freedom. I love this Nonet and my vote for the contest.
Sending you my best today as always,
Sal XOs.....

Wow, Sally - thanx for those stars, my lady!! ;) :) And YES, you are so right, too many people have transformed into 'aggressors' over triviality and, yes, outright lies and purposeful manipulation.... when did our country become ruled by fear and violence (oh, and the fear OF violence)...? UGH!
You be sure to take care of Jackson, King and the gang over there, my lady, and keep up the smiling yet strong attitude! ;) Yvette

The title fits this poem perfectly. Yes its not the corona pandemic, but its a pandemic of stupidity. As you say it is, choking both truth and freedom. What gets me is the actions of some steal the freedom to live safely without fear of an isolated intubated death.

Wonderful way to describe the madness in the country these days. Your nonet is in lovely form - and takes us back to what's most important to "stand firm" and value each other. Best wishes in the contest!

I don't think I read a Coronavirus-dedicated Nonet yet. You did a beautiful job on this all around. Your lines are haunting and reach your very depth, your subtle rhyming enhances the charm.
This should do extremely well in the contest, I think I might be looking at a next winner.

************** stars for you penpal. ******* beautiful photo
and the message of fear turns to faith in God. Let's fight this covid
together. Now we all have to wear masks. Many people sew for hours to create these masks for people and medical staff. My hubby works
at a grocery store. Many people were afraid to walk into the store so
they had the food delivered. God's blessings and stay safe. flylikeaneagle

I like the message conveyed in this. If we don't stand together as we the people under God in this hour, divided, we'll fall. Thanks for sharing this inspirational and well written work. Well done!

There is a message in this piece. It urges us to look out for one another. Times are troubled and that trouble is allowing our freedoms to be taken away.
