Great job with the prompt and the end rhymes are a nice touch to your poem. It has always been greed beforethe needy and it will stay that way as long as man is in charge.

A very well-written political 5-7-5 poem about the politicians feeding themselves with great foods while the masses who pay their salaries are starving from hunger.

I thought this was absolutely brilliant. You packed volumes in these three lines. I liked the humor and wit and your clever last line. Great artistic presentation and photo.

This should do very well in the political 5-7-5 contest and I may be looking at a winner.

"Illicit Lure", is short, succinct and very much to the point. With a minimum of words, this talented poet has told it as it is. Keep writing, you have talent. Good luck with the contest!

Those who make money seem to be in a cycle of greed and their thirst for it can be seen as hunger, a fine presentation, your words are food for thought here, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Hit the nail on the head. Like this work very much. Great picture to go with the verse. Unfortunately, this is not a new phenomenon in America. The one percenters and the lobbyists have too much political power, in my opinion.

M-m-m here's a political commentary that spans the ages and one wonders if it will ever really change - even in the midst of a raging pandemic -the closing line is especially powerful

How true. It is sad when some go hungry while others have disposable assets. Money isn't the root of all evil - love of money is. It's what's choking society - greed.

This poem speaks the truth. People go hungry as the wealthy get richer and richer. The greed overcomes the wealthy and they don't really care that the poor are going hungry. Many rich people give to charity as a tax write off but they really don't care about the people. You've got it right! Well done. -January L. :)

The author creates a juxtaposition between corporate profits and poverty. The poem elucidates the issues of being poor and the consistent concern for the capitalistic agenda toward profits rather than ameliorating poverty.
