Dear Author, this post needs one more stanza, at least, to complete the idea of the 'temporary seal' you left hanging in your last line.
At least that is the way I felt, when I reviewed this otherwise outstanding poem, worthy of six stars.

Thank you for your complimentary review. It has been so long since I have written anything, I was afraid as to how this piece would be received. I have grappled with extending this poem but find that this is the place I am in right now. I do, at times, revise my pieces and do thank you for the suggestion.

Great expression of sadness due to missing one's mother. You start with something a simple as a favorite color and then take us on a memory and the reliving with children on the walks. Best wishes in the contest!

I found that was my Mothers favorite too. (Mother's)

This is a very moving piece, fantastic picture choice as it certainly pulls a reader in to read and many readers will nod their heads and agree (one way or another) to your words. I don't know if your truth or not, regardless, many will nod their heads in agreement with the words...I did and I thank you - Dinah

A beautiful poem reminiscing mother/daughter memories in simple down to earth vocabulary and meaningful verse and excellent rhymes; thanks for sharing and good luck!

The photograph is very beautiful.
Your poem is very sad; I was hoping that somehow you would come to terms with your mom's death. I lost my mom two years ago, and it really hurts sometime.
I like the image of the woods being carpeted green. I've seen that and it's very beautiful. Note: may I suggest in the last line you need a noun or an object after seal. As in seal "my heart." or something like that.
You wrote a beautiful poem and anyone who has lost someone can empathize with you.
Good luck with all your contest.
Blessings,

A beautifully written poem on the joys and sadness that can come from reminiscing. It seems we can't have one without the other. Wounds take time to heal and they can reopen when we revisit the past. But some things are worth remembering- despite a few tears.

Sadness

Hello my friend

Nice entry for the
Feelings Poetry writing prompt contest.

I'm familiar with sadness. I guess everyone can relate. I'm sorry for your loss. My mother died when I was ten years old.

The author's words are heartfelt, sad, descriptive and creative. I found
these words grasping for peace. The poem flows and connects well.
The artwork is lovely and compliments this poem.

What a nostalgic, sad poem, yet full of beautiful memories. You were fortunate to have such a loving mother and you were very gracious to relive those memories with your own children. Did most of the pine needles fall on their hoods? ; )

A very well-written sadness poem. We often regret that we waste so much time not spending it with our loved ones after they are gone.
