Absolutely charming and quite poignant. Obviously true to form :-) I regret not having a six pack left. Lovely image and presentation. Thank you for sharing. Cheers - DJ

I'm thrilled that you like this, Yvette. :-)
Hope your moving situation has calmed down a bit.
It's always such a hassle...I've lived in over 50 places. xo

This is lovely poem and the perfect Tanka contest entry.
I have always been facinated by origami, although my own feeble attempts at it have failed miserably.
I don't know the reason that your child is bedridden, but those lines were difficult to process, picturing them, folding paper to pass the time.
Well done and thank you for sharing - good luck in the contest.

Thank you so much for your kind and sensitive review. The posting, however, is a compilation of someone I knew whose child was bedridden and others who excelled at origami. Like you, my own origami skills are seriously lacking! :-)

There is a good feeling in your tanka form. Despite the child is bedridden, beautiful paper doves are created, an image of peace and hope. Excellent tanka form and use of words. You also tell a story here.

Very beautifully written. Keeping some one bedridden involved is and act of love that can do woders to lift their spirits .Is this boigraphical? If so I hope it is not a major thing.

Thank you for a lovely review. Someone else also asked that question and I told him that I have known families with bedridden children and known other people who excel at doing origami. This posting is the result of a compilation of such experiences and not about any one particular child. Thank you, also, for asking. :-)

I have known families with bedridden children, and I have known people who excel at origami. This is really a combination of different experiences plus imagination. Thank you especially for mentioning my artwork. I enjoy doing it as much as writing the poems I post. Big smiles!
