I loved the imagery you present here. Excellent word economy as you utilized each syllable well. Fine use of alliteration and consonance in this short space. Lovely presentation as well. This should do well in the prompt. Good luck!

With temps in the nineties and heat indices well over a hundred, I look back and wonder how we stood it without air conditioning years ago!
Your poem is lovely and vividly descriptive. As we look at the lovely sunrise, we know what's coming--unlovely scorching heat!

Indeed, I can feel.the heat and see it in your words. Nice use of language creating the image..something so ominous about summer in the city. Your poem conveys that
