This is great! Didn't even see it coming! How cute is this? Wonderful character interaction. Descriptive scenery. Nice to have mother to investigate, judge, and get involved. Makes for great story telling, after the rigmarole. Wonderful story on the subject of perspective. A caution surely for all of us readers!
Well done!

This flash fiction story, Jumping to Confusions, was a little bit of humor, mystery, and more humor as the end of the story brings all elements into the denouement.

Hi Lisa, The cat burglar strikes again. You fooled me! I thought there was a real burglar, but knew it was a cat or dog when you wrote,
"the destructive 'burglar' scampered out of the bathroom into the hallway, dragging the end of the toilet paper roll."
They can be destructive little rascals. Perhaps the policeman needed some excitement for the afternoon, eh? Was he good-looking? Who needs David?
Nicely penned! Reminds me of Judi's cat escapades.

Cheers
Kimbob

A very well-written humorous flash fiction that is close to be the real scenario in any household. After a whole weekend without proper water supply, the dishes piled up and I'm currently waiting for the plumbers to restore the pipes.

This is a fun write and it is making me wonder if your new pet is causing some havoc in your house? I loved the concept of this write and how we can misjudge situations until we know the truth, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

The burglar caught white pawed. Mom was right to jump to conclusions, better safe than sorry. Not only did the policeman get a good laugh I am sure the station house did too. Unless it had been taken over by the mob.

Told you that cat would be your muse, LisaMay. :) They are lovely, playful, naughty, and sometimes MEAN. My aunt has one and he's the boss. If she does not feed it what it wants... he bites her. I told her to get rid of it, but she loves it. This is a good entry for the Flash Fiction Writing Contest.

I like that a cat can cause that much chaos! I thought only dogs made messes when their people weren't looking. Your story is humorous and it is a nice read. Good work, Lisa. Good luck in all your contests.

What a fun entry for the contest. I enjoyed it. I like all three scenarios until the final reveal. You did a great job telling each POV. The ending is perfect for the cat lover you are. Thanks for sharing and best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan

Delightfully witty punchline--cat burglar. Wry humor re clutter and lousy housekeeping and then the apparent ransacking. Love the twist about her getting a cat now that David the Dick has departed--she made a wise trade! Cheers. LIZ (I know a guy who's highly allergic and one day he was greeted by a pair of cats his wife had defiantly adopted--he took that as a hint to get packing.)
