I love how you become one with the memories of this house that intrigues and enchanting you in restoring her old fame through a picture. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

This is a very interesting story. Your character, Miss Billie, served a literary purpose. The oldest building in my town is a small structure build before the civil war.
I can't wait for other photos and chapters to come to life, Mike.
Have a wonderful week.
Best wishes for all your writing endeavors,
Cindy

Oh, the stories Miss Billie can tell. I enjoyed your story. Your words are filled with great imagery. I could see the old house even if you hadn't included a picture. By your description of Miss Billie, I could picture her, too. I will look forward to reading follow-up chapters.

Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Your descriptions of the of the scenery, the sense of things, and the up close analysis of the house and how it spoke to you is well done and brings me right into this old farm setting. Billie is an apt character for this situation.

What a great imagination you have Mike. It sounds so real, we have a mountain range up north, where towns were settled in times when good rainfall fell, but there isn't much now, and subsequently towns were deserted, that was the nineteenth century, but it is fascinating to visit places that have names, and yet I know ghosts dwell there, not real ones, but life and stories still inhabit them. Beautifully Written, my friend, blessings, Roy

The story of an old and hidden farmhouse, presumably abandoned, turns out to be the story of a very old woman, living there by herself. She lives of the land and cooks on a woodstove. She reads the Bible and finds all the support she needs in there. She only needs flour. What a fairy tale! Good you can bring her the flour when you come back to hear the rest of her story. Good you wanted to photograph that house. A most fascinating and very well written story.

Yes, I have met these beautiful souls out witnessing. Most invited me to sit on the porch and drink lemonade. I think you excel in this style of writing. Please do more of this. Love this!

Mike,

hahaha You read my mind! When you described the other picture you had taken - the soy bean field, I immediately wanted to see it, too!

The writing was nice and tight and the story was just downright fun. I love old buildings~ There's a facebook group I'm on that's called 'Forgotten Alabama'. People upload and share exactly these kinds of pix. Soooo cool!

Thanks - I look forward to the rest.

I sure love this write. I love that it could be possible and love that you created Billie in order to bring some cool humanity to your story. I think she is fortunate in many ways to not know.
