Ah indeed dear Sally,
Often times our body time for sleep is at odd with an ever impulsive,
restless, and draining muse, that does not pardon us for body sleep
no where often or considerately enogh. Great message, and very
relatable indeed. Thanks for sharing.
Love, blessings. Ronni

Your poem is in fine format. The theme is easy to relate with as many of us would have spend sleepless, writing our feelings. Excellent rhyming and fine flow.

What a terrific poem, Sally. How many creative people wake up in the middle of the night pounding away at the keyboard when they'd rather be sleeping. I like the poetic way you presented this. Hugs, Lou

Thank you, Lou dear. I had fun with this new poetry form. I was awakened in the middle of the night by the meter, and thus the theme. So glad you enjoyed it. Sending you my best today as always,

I might have to try this form, Sally.
Isn't it something how we can work on a poem, even when we're sleeping? When you start a poem, and you've squeezed as much of it out as you can. But it's like a road block. A detour. You just can't push it any farther. So you go to bed. It's late. We'll have another go at it in the morning. But your brain isn't ready to stop. You fall asleep, and it's searching for a way through. A phrase. Perhaps a whole line. You finally wake up at 3AM, and you have to get up and write it down. This inspiration.
I love this part,
"lie in bliss,
and sweep my muse out on the sill,
to rest and blow a tender kiss."
I've certainly been there. But my muse is like a little kid, so disobedient!
Thanks for sharing!
Hugs,
Kimbob

I do not sleep well just before the moons, full and new. When I don;t sleep well, I am good for nothing the next day. Oh how I do love my dreams. Sometimes, I wish I could remember my dreams. They are good fodder for a strange story. Sometimes, when I wake in the middlemof the night, I work on story ideas before I fall back to sleep. My muse has jumped off the sill.

I dream very vividly. I've had health issues lately that have thrown off my sleep. Add... my muse who is insufferable. Sending you my best today as always with many thanks,

Oh the hours I fight off sleep, inspired and excited about something I'm creating/making. And then those lovely times I let my hammock swing and I give in to blissful sleep. Your poem captures it all...

This is a very worthy posting describing the sleep situation for many writers whose minds are reluctant to enter into a nightlong place of rest. We can relate to such a situation very well. (Sigh) Some times I must force myself to reach for the pen and paper kept nearby to write down words and lines a mischievous muse likes to dangle before me when I desperately need to get to sleep. If not written down, they fade away like wisps of a dream disappearing from a creative mind. -- I'm glad these specific poetic lines have not eluded your pen so that you were able to share them with us. xo Janet

The author's words are true, clear and creative. Thank you for the video as the music is great! The words of this poem led me to think of when
I have a good night's sleep. The artwork is great and made me smile.
It goes well with these words. Have a great weekend!

Hi Sally, yes we all have those times when we want to do more but somehow seem stifled in what we want to do and achieve. That's how I read your poem. I loved it. All best. Ulla xxx

Thank you, Ulla dear. It seems many have this affliction at one time or another. It must be the writer's curse. I'd say both a blessing and a curse sometimes....

This is the best Peppered Pickle I have read. I adore your rhymes, meter and flow, your internal rhymes, your artistic presentation and artwork.

This was perfection.

Dear Muse, thank you for the lovely review and starshine. I am honored. I've had this in edit for the longest time and decided to let it out. Dolly and Gloria helped me with the meter and I'm most grateful for their encouragement. I was a prose writer long before poetry and tend to stay with Nonets and Freestyle poetry. This is my first attempt at this form which makes your review even more special. It's scary to break out and try something unfamiliar.

Thank you, again, for the kimd compliments. It means the world to me.
Sending you my best today as always,
    Sally xoxo
