pigeon plum flowers
bend but not break in the storm
at Indian Key
A storm which can kill a person leaves a seemingly fragile flower unharmed. We see the flowers afterwards and they astonish us.

Hola, Marival, I loved your haiku, 5-7-5 poem. And thanks for the invitation. I have added my own 5-7-5 poem to the book. It's just such a wonderful poetic tradition to keep alive. Un abrazo. Ulla xx

That is a gorgeous Renga, a form I am yet to try, with stunning imagery, visuals and artistic presentation. Thank you for your helpful author notes explaining the form.
An amazing work. Thank you for another excursion to the exciting world of Japanese forms.

I see this is where the renga begins. I hope to tag on the top or bottom of a tanka along the way. Your haiku is a an alliterative delight to start it off.

Comment from Gloria ....
Excellent imagery here, and it's for sure best to bend in the storm.
Your renga collaborative book is a terrific idea, Gypsy and I will most definitely be contributing.
Great idea and a wonderful haiku. I guess I'll follow and find out where to fit in.
A most enjoyable read today. :)

Hello Gypsy!
I am doing all of the backwards!
I meant to review your work and June's after I read both of them.
But then I became distracted, read Pam's, and focused on contributing my couplet.
That said, you have written a lovely/stunning haiku that speaks of strength and perseverance.
What a wonderful and creative enterprise.
Hoping my contribution does your book justice.
Thank you!

You have combined both words and picture to present a beautiful posting. It is an excellent work with lightening showing in the background...a sort of yin-yang experience for the reader. Very well done!

A very well-written Renga that starts off the series that will follow your lead to make a complete story about events and from different view points that will be found in one book together.

Love the color in the image! Ran off to "Mr. Google" to look up some pictures of the pigeon plum flower--(I'd never heard of it)--So, if I'm understanding, the next "contributor" would add a 7/7 line couplet? Or could they write more than that? (No, it won't be me--you're above my pay grade!)----Karenina

June has contributed a chapter two with a 7/7 couplet. Next will be a 5/7/5 stanza. I'm excited to see what people contribute. If you decide to give it a try I can help you. You can write something and send it to me for feedback.
Thank you very much for your support and kind reviews.

Hmmm. So IF I were brave enough to try...(I clicked on add chapter)---how would I get to see what June added in her 7/7 so could cohesively contribute to the flow? (It's probably right there in front of me but I'm not seeing it....)

And add a 5/7/5 that relates to her 7/7. I can help you.
