A great descriptive narrative, liked the way you brought the therapy of gardening into your verse. The pain of the passing friendship was evident, and the consolation of continuing to garden was enlightening. Your innuendo's about weeds, alleging to the clutter and chaos we accumulate in our lives, and the need to recognize, clean, and continue the necessary maintenance in order to have a more cheerful, productive life.

I'm so glad to know you were able to retrieve this and share it here on FanStory. We all do have a lot of weeds cluttering up our lives and keeping the Sonlight from being absorbed and keeping us focused and looking up the way we should to be at peace within our own selves. You have provided a lot to think about here regarding a person's personal life. Gardens are such special places and I like what you've done with such an idea very much. Blessings always, Janet

Glad you got your phone charger and can share with us again, Darren. I loved your poem - the most poetic in a while and with meaning that I can only guess. It feels like a relationship was broken while toiling in this garden of life. Or the Other wanted something else or something deeper? At any rate, I loved your conclusion where I felt you were saying that the Lord was charging you to not worry but focus on "your own weeds" and entrust all things to Him.

Thius poems has many angles I could address. I see it a a complete metaphor about the task of living life and how it is perceived. There is a saying, "Chop wood & carry water before enlightenment...Chop wood & carry water after enlightenment." It is not what we do; it is the spirit in which we do it. The person you speak of senses it too. There was no joy, just a lot of toil. We need to focus on the other person in front of us rather than trying to make everything perfect first. It will never happen. I reallt like this thought: "Some of them are pulling weeds which is what others are planting" There is so much more I could write but this is enough for now.

We do need to tend to and toil in our garden, don't we? And sometimes it is hard to tell the weeds from the useful plants so we have to keep learning too.
I always cry when I read "The Giving Tree." That tree gave everything.

That's one thing I like about riding here and using suggestions about other people's writing because I know that most of the people here will be familiar with it. Thank you so much for your continued support, I like your perspective and I like what you write is that we have to keep learning. That's brilliant! Thanks again I really appreciate your comments.

PS also in an effort to draw us all together and give each other support, I have a new friend here name to Raul one who writes with a particularly his style thank you did a poem with a prompt of falling in love unexpectedly and I reviewed it generously and gave him some advice and he took my advice.
