You personification immediately draws the reader in. You have used strong metaphors. This could easily be a metaphor of two in a relationship and all of the elements in a good loyal connection. I like the ancient dialectal tones too. Well orchestrated.

Sorry for the delay, Liz -- getting a house ready for market (downsizing!) is a lot of work! ugh. Thanx for the review, my lady, and have a wonderful weekend! ;) Yvette

What a lot of work. That faces me in a couple of years. I was going to bring many articles of clothing, books etc to my friend to be brought to a charity not-new shop. It would have been done by now, but with Covid, it complicates things. I may have to wait another year. The charity is firstly, horse rescue, but has expanded to animal assistance.

The visuals and imagery here are simply breathtaking. I feel like I am there, inhaling all this beauty. The artistic presentation and photo are perfect.
Imagine the thrill of crisp, quaking leaves
or pride of the trees that they trim ~
Just knowing their being is Shadow's soul,
their motion, her wave and whim...
Your words take us far away, to the new and exciting world, where we want to stay.
Thank you for the journey.

Congrats on winning the contest. The sunlight and shadow are two characters in your poem. You have a smooth flow of lines and verses and a vivid use of words that makes the sunlight and shadow come alive. Your words also read like a love story creating good feelings.

Shadows in the forest are a Kaleidoscope of shapes and forms, light and dark, changing as the Sun moves across the trees, bushes, and streams.
Impossible for Man to create; Nature has the secret, in perpetuity.

I can see why this poem won. It is excellent in every respect. Through
vivid personification, you have described nature's "team" of Sunlight and shadow. The form is also excellent.

You have certainly met the rules of this writing prompt. The picture and your words have provided a lovely insight into the sunlight and shadows. By addressing them as "he" and "she" you brought the reader along with you on your nature walk.
Well done.

Thank you beautiful lady -- been AWOL this past week or so, I know, but think we're almost there (waiting on the husband and his infinite garage stuff (lol!)... but I should be able to even things out a bit. Lots of changes over this way... Take care! ;) Yvette

You are missed and a few others in my fan base as well. I'm feeling mighty lonely. Don't be gone too terribly long. Sal xoxo

Oh my goodness, dear Yvette!
What a glorious offering!
Have been a bit AWOL for the past few days; I hope to return on a more even keel soon!
Aside from the keen creativity and rhythm in your exceptionally well-crafted poem, I so appreciate your use of personification and visual imagery.
Kudos and Congratulations!

AWOL is the story of my life, Beautiful Lady. However, I am now to a point where we are in a holding pattern waiting on the husband to finish his domain: the garage and, a bit smaller task, his desk (I packed up the rest of all his stuff in the office and the office closet and the filing cabinet and... well, you get the picture.
Thank you again for this lovely review and for those stars -- you make me wanna come back and write a bit more... :) :) :) Take care up there and I'll be back in the swing soon... Yvette

Your poem is sophisticated in the way you have
wed Sunlight and Shadow. Your words paint colors
in the readers mind as they follow the twin journey's
of your subjects.
A masterful game of natures tag is played as
Sunlight and Shadow compliment each other yet
try to out do each other also.
This is a very creative subject and poem.
Blessings,
Richie b
