you tell us an amazing thing I didn't know that they live in trees.
I had to say ouch when I saw a your picture of a poor dog with the quills in his nose, reminded me when one of my dogs when he had a bad episode with porcupine, decided to spray quills in his mouth and nose

That must have been so painful, Gert! Many hunting dogs come back with them all over their faces, I saw quite a few pictures on Google like that. Not nice. Thank you so much for reading this one, my dear friend. I'm so pleased you liked it. Have a lovely week and stay well. :)) Sandra xx

Great work as always! I like the simplicity of the poem, and how you go more in depth with the facts section. I'm easily bored by long list of facts, but you always make it interesting and fun and it's super enjoyable to read. Well done,

Well written and informative piece about porcupines. I love the pictures you've chosen to go with. -My parents owned some dogs that had an unfortunate encounter with a porcupine, so I can attest to what you've written. Very sad, but true.

Thank you, Kathleen, for your lovely comments. I'm delighted you enjoyed reading this one, and more so that you can attest to what I've said. It must have been so painful for the poor dogs. Did the porcupine get to walk away? Brazen little things, aren't they? Though, sometimes they lose. The picture of the cubs and one with the quill in his nose, I didn't finish that sentence in case it upset someone, especially youngsters. But, the cubs father came and killed the porcupine. Sad, though. Thanks again, for the lovely comments, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Sandra,
This is all so fascinating! These facts bust so many of my long-held beliefs about porcupines. *smile* These images of the tree-dwellers look more like prickly sloths than anything else. Crazy!
Still enjoying! Thanks!

Thank you, Robyn. This one was more interesting than I thought it would be, goes to show how much I knew. I think nature is wonderful the way it makes sure each animal at least has a fighting chance of survival. I'm glad you are still enjoying them. :)) Sandra xxx

Hello Sandra,
Another great, fun poem and notes for Eric and the other kids.
Isn't it nice that the letter "o" is next to "p" in the alphabet; that way the porcupine can dip his quill into the ink of the octopus and write it's poetry.
Some coincidences are meant to be.
Since the porcupine's favorite food is wood, it might be dangerous for the many blockheads in the world to reside near those prickly guys. Perhaps you could send one to our president.
I feel sorry for that poor dog.
Well done, my friend.
Hope all is well.
Robert

LOL. I didn't think of that, but it's true! If porcupines lived in England, I think our Boris would need to take care. President Trump would surround himself with other blockheads, in the hope the porcupines would be full up by the time they got to him!!! LOL. Thank you so much for another fun review, my friend, and the lovely six stars. That poor dog, I chose him because he only had a few quills on his face, there are loads of pictures where their heads and faces are completely covered with them, horrific sights. Those dogs were mainly hunters and obviously don't give up easily. Mad. If I had one quill go into my head, I'd be running as fast as my legs allowed to get away from the porcupine, not go on the attack for more!
Thanks again, my friend. Have a lovely day. :)) Sandra xx
