I'm sure that was the last thing anyone would expect. Especially at such a fun, social gathering. I think it would be a great idea to put a few safety precautions in place. Your piece is very well-written, interesting start to finish. I look forward to reading more.

Great reporting. The story begs the question "what do firearms have to do with a flipping contest," eh? All the elements of a newspaper article are there, the supercilious interview of the bystander, the quote from the Mayor, the plans for next year. My o my, The truth is as strange as fiction. Good story. Good luck with the book.

This story was creative and funny. I found a couple of things you may want to tweak: I think you should use right instead of dead. Did you mean wielding instead of wilding?
