Funny story? I wondered if that were true so off I went to ask Mr. Google!
The first entry I found was a play on words that made me chuckle... :Sour grapes make the best WHINE!"--I never did get the answer, I was too busy chuckling. THAT I KNOW is true!--Karenina

Good entry for the contest. It reminds me of the saying that one should
make lemonade out of lemons. But wine is better. You have a good image
to go with your poem.

Very funny. I appreciated the way that you were able to make a pun out of the old sour grapes phrase. I'm not really sure if rotten grapes would make a very pleasant tasting alcohol though. Well done.

Maybe, but, as they say, "What has that to do with the price of tea in China?" Might there be a deeper meaning I failed to see?
Hopefully,

Do they? Sour grapes is often a metaphor for disdain as we yearn for something we cannot have. Grapes are usually left on the vine to sweeten and if they are plucked too early they don't make good wine, but you beg to differ here, love Dolly x

"Sour grapes
make the best fine wine
sometimes..."
This is a nice 2-5-2 syllable poem for the contest. I love the photo of the grapes, it's beautiful and the phrase is clever..
I wish you the best in the contest.
