"These Eight Legs of Mine", is an extremely well-written and delightfully descriptive piece. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. To me, this is a six, but sadly I've run out of them. I look forward to seeing your next post.

This poem is excellent in every respect and would be, I think, a joy for readers of all ages. It is very descriptive and delightful, telling of what those eight legs can do.

A cute poem. Love it. Those darn spiders do like to spin their legs around and dance amongst their woven web. They will weave and weave, back and forth and perhaps get a little dizzy in the process.

Sounds like you have a talented spider there, who can square dance, weave, free form, and outpace centipedes. (But oh, the cost of buying dancing shoes!) Cute five stanza poem and what an adorable cartoon spider.

What an adorable children's poem. I think spiders are incredible creatures and for the most part I encourage them in the barn. They are so good at catching the pesky flies and mosquitoes.

The only spiders I try to get rid of are the black widows. When I was young, my little sister was bitten by a black widow that was hiding in her shoe and she nearly died. I think she was four or five and so the poison spread pretty fast. To this day, I still shake out my shoes before I put them on.

Those widows are nasty beeyatches. :/ There's a few around here that we 'banish' that leave a nasty bite (nothing deadly or anything, thank goodness!), but in general, I'm of the mind that they eat the bothersome critters so they get a pass! ;) Thanx for the review, my lady!! :)

Well, my friend, how long has it been since anyone told you that you have amazing legs? What a clever way to approach an entry for this very specific contest. It is such a lyrical read, and fun! good luck in the contest.

I do not like spiders, but your poem was a lovely one! You described the spider very well and the rhyming scheme was great. A lovely children's poem.

This work has reached the exceptional level

I once saw a spider
Fall into a bottle of cider

He was confused thinking he was a fly with so many legs he could not fly even though he just had to try

He let out a sigh a fly that can see the sky but can only try to fly

As the cider faded away he could see he was not a fly

So, he began to sigh, Iam happy to be who I am.

And when he saw Miss Moffett sitting on her tuffet, eating her curds and whey, he knew this was the beginning of a beautiful day, as a spider.

Eight legs says it all.
