These are good book choices in your poetry. I remember Dick and Jane.
Keep the memories and build on them with your children. Have a great
Father's Day weekend. flylikeaneagle

very cleverly don Author and yes I remember Dick and Jane. I remember Jip the dog as well. I was learning to read while reading those books. You have certainly bought back some fond innocent years of my childhood. I also remember Spot the dog as well. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes for you in the contest.

Thank you so much. I think Jip belonged to Alice and Jerry, another reading series. Sounds like you got a double dose.

-Nice image and presentation.
-Thanks for the notes.
-I am one of those who
can remember those Dick and Jane stories.
-You did a good job using
that in your poem.
-I like the ending, too.
-If you use Advanced Editor,
you can italicize by going to
where you see B I for Bold and
Italics. Highlight your word/words
and click on I.
-Good luck in the contest.

Thanks for a lovely review and for the editing tip. Unfortunately, I can?t get Advanced Editor to work in Author?s Notes.

You are welcome. I didn't know you meant in the author notes. When I know who you are, I will send you a message. There is a way to bold face and to italicize in the author notes.

This work has reached the exceptional level

Dick and Jane I read in school as a child. It all starts from here. Once you get older you read books for different subjects to make a report, genre you like and it is off and running. You want to know more.
In the beginning, reminds me of the bible.
Good luck in he contest.

I have fond memories of Dick and Jane - I don't think they were phonics, but I loved the pictures. I see them in antique stores and it always brings me back to my childhood. This is a sweetly written poem and I like the way you wrap you lines around, make use of rhyme. Well penned.

You've written an excellent poem for the contest with five very good titles
with some excellent rhymes.
So many great memories of when we were young.
I think you would have to use the Advanced Editor to get Italics.
Nicely done.
Good luck in the contest

You certainly did this in a quick and neat style with books most of us know and love. Certainly took me all the way back to kindergarten. This is nicely done and I really enjoyed reading it.
