Hi Earl excellent rhyming in this 5-7-5. For a first one, you did remarkably well and I enjoyed it. It was recognized but deserved more, I suspect. You have come a long way though, quite honestly, my friend. Bob

Yes, it is a 5-7-5. And yes, it is about a real bird species. And yes, I like it.
Finches are lively little birds, I have a whole lot of them twittering about in my big mother-like oak, where hundreds of different feathered friends have constructed their nests, and are brooding out their eggs. Some have their offspring already fixed for the first flying lessons.

This is a pretty great first try at a 5/7/5 poem. It is quite masterful. I like the finch too. The photo that you chose is really cute and goes well with your poem. Keep writing these 5/7/5 poems. You're pretty good at them. Hugs. -January L.

This is a cute little poem. I love finches as well. Thanks a lot for sharing this poe with us. I think this one should do well in the contest. Not sure when that is finished, though.

Nicely done! The finch is such an adorable bird, I once had two bright blue ones that I kept at home and they always seemed to be happy and content, as well as being so beautiful to look at every day. You have created the perfect entry for the 5-7-5 contest. The rhyming couldn't be better and in such a short piece you have conveyed the joy that you derive from the Finch. Good luck in the contest.

I enjoyed reading this piece. I feel the same way about the robin over here in Britain, it has and I think it will always be my favourite bird. Good luck in the contest!

Hello, Top of the day to you,
I like your 5-7-5 Bye Bye Blackbird poem. However, you chose to write about the Finch. You met the poem's requirement. Also, I like the beautiful picture of the brown and black finch. I didn't know the finch are used as pet birds today. I had a parakeet at one time in my life. I like your three lines which rhymes beautifully in your poem. Your poem shares, it's an easy task to have a finch, and of course it stole your heart. Too cool. Well-penned. Happy writing:-)

Aww, this was a very sweet five seven five. You captured your only personal emotions perfectly and expressed them well while speaking about this lovely bird.
