Wow,
James your poetry blows me away. You certainly wear you heart in you poetry. You are a caring man.
The below stanza demonstrates that it does not take much to display care, but these little things can certainly make a significance difference in someone's life.
I wish I could give you 10 stars for this poem, James.
A gentle squeeze of a hand
a tender glance at just the right moment
softly humming a tune

Thank you so much for this genuine and sincere review. You express yourself well, and you touch my heart with your kind words.
I am currently living in a skilled nursing facility, and displays of kindness are shown to make all the difference in a routine gesture such as retrieving ice water, or opening up the shades to let the sun shine through out the room. I am learning first hand what a difference an extra smile can make in my life and others like mine.
Your virtual 10 stars are much appreciated, as well as the sixth star rating and wonderful review. Listen to the softly humming tune in my thoughts as I send you good wishes for a great weekend.
Take care,
James

Sometimes, I too, wonder how many people truly care and have compassion for their fellow man or woman. Kindnesses, doled out like cookies whenever the purveyor sees fit. Although, a true heart beats nonstop and never wavers by choice. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, Ric, for this insightful synopsis of the theme running through my poem. I like your comparison of true kindness, with a 'true heart' which beats nonstop, never wavering by choice. Thank you for your excellent rating and review. Have a good upcoming week.
Take care,
Jesse

A reflective piece of poetic writing here to enable us to see more clearly perhaps the impact our acts of kindness, even small ones, may have on those around us

I liked the fluttering effect of the rhythm in this free verse piece, and the sentiments of a more profound experience of kindness, a kindness that comes from the soul, almost from the womb, rather than this electric, artificial emotion. Good contrast there. estory

Well, that praying mantis may think the bird is coming in for a hug...
Let's hope and pray that holding hands together is something we can one day achieve... treasured as you say.

Well your first line says volumes as this seems to be happening world wide, why does it take so much hardship for some to show kindness and then when time covers it, they resume their hatred, and if we all move in the right/same direction forever holding hands would not be out of reach, very well written with a wonderful message for all of us, a pleasure to read****kahpot

Thank you, my friend, for hitting the nail on the head about how hardship brings out temporary kindness that is too easily removed when "time covers it." I am so glad you enjoyed this poem, and I thank you for kind words and generous exceptional rating.
Your insights are well thought out and understood.
Take care,
Jesse

-Very nice image and
presentation, Jesse.
-A well written poem with
effective imagery, and message.
-I like the opening two verses,
and the cradle as a symbol of
innocence and purity,
and just being nice.
-Then, you present a good question
that raises a little doubt.
-These are excellent lines with
internal rhyme and an very
good concluding line.
-You have a good way with words.
-Lastly, you use "holding hands together"
as a symbol of what we need to do
to make this world a better place.
-Very well done; it was a lot to
think about in a very creative way!

You are very welcome and deserving of the stars and the review, Jesse. I was just sharing ideas from what you wrote. It's okay that you didn't respond earlier; I didn't finish my responses until yesterday.
-
Thanks! I felt I hadn't been courteous because I waited too long to respond. I am glad to know I am not alone in regards to postponing my replies.
Jesse
-
No, you are not alone in that regard, Jesse.
-
Whew! That is good to know.
Enjoy your Sunday.

Yes, kindness is sadly lacking these days. It is so much easier to let our hearts cradle one another. It takes much more energy to generate hatred and negativity. Thank you for reminding us to be human again.
