This story is so sad. No one wants to hear that kind of news from the doctor and indeed it was surprising. I love that you added a funny line at the end it brought my heart back up.

Excellent

This story gets off to a sluggish start, but once we hear Sarah talking to her doctor, it takes off quickly. A great closer which a certain insurance company which advertises frequently on TV would love.

Well, that's certainly taking the advertiser's premise to it's most absurd conclusion. I'm guess the people who created the campaign joked about just such a scenario. I use to create ads myself. I was a sick puppy, too.
The only thing missing is the patient's reaction.
