Yes, that is the fear that the logical conclusion of the AI, programmed to remove the cause of problems, would mean that mankind is the source of problems! Congratulations on placing in the contest!

Some people will never believe that their precious carbon-based petro-fuels are destroying the ecosystem--not so long as they're making money hand over fist. Mankind has already set in motion the demise of the species. It won't make much of a difference if AI chips in.

    Using AI, making it work on ways to help us save our planet will allow the AI to become more intelligent on the way until one day ( in the not too far future , many fear ) it will acquire self awareness..

    ...at that point AI could easily decide to eliminate humanity to save the planet.

    In the process of Elaborating ways to help us AI becomes always smarter until one day achieved self awareness it WILL DECIDE to eliminate the problem at the core ...US....
