Margaret, having past through the doors of corporate leadership I was far more pleased with teams that excelled than the teams that competed. The teams that excelled were more innovative, the teams that competed seemed always get bogged down on doing the the same of way faster, not always better.

I collected a lot of trophies in my life, even here, and it's probably true that it promotes excellence. Beautifully written my friend. I used to think competing is everything, even competing against my grandchildren, which isn't good. I love them too much. I collected a lot of trophies in my life, even here, and it's probably true that it promotes excellence. Beautifully written my friend. I very much enjoyed this posting for the Competition Prompt. It has wonderful imagery and an equally strong message...learn, evolve...excel! If only, this would be taken into more hearts and acted upon. What a different environment we all would be experiencing. Best wishes in the contest!

Sumpta, I do thank you for your review and comments, our truest self goal should always try to fail forward, if we don't ry we are failing, if we fail and learn nothing we miss an opportunity. It is when we fail and learn from it we learn to excel.

Yes, that should be the ultimate long term goal of all competition-- that we strive to excel in all areas of our life. Competition can be a healthy teaching tool with the right coach.
