I only have one forty-three-year-old, bachelor son, but I can still relate to your true story. I enjoyed your reinforcing illustration and am glad your entry was well received in the contest. Cheers- Joan

Bill,

How sweet! My kids think I have favorites, too. Drives me NUTS. But I always figure - if they (three of them) each think I have different favorites, I must be doing something right! hahaha

My mom was entirely different. She DID have a favorite - my brother. He knew it- I knew it - and she even admitted it! hahaha But I didn't mind. I love/adore my brother so much I'm happy he's her favorite. haha

Thanks, Bill!

Thanks, Robyn. These too one-up each other for their mother all the time. Their practical jokes sting too.

This was terrific to read and so fun, too, Bill. Through your writing I could just feel and hear the conversations moving along at a well-timed clip on your part. This brought back some memories and a few unanswered questions on my part as well. Best of luck in the contest. Loren

This is a very cute story of sibling rivalry in a loving family.
It is well written in a tight, funny format. The mother's responses were wise and great.
Very well done.

It clearly appears to me that sibling rivalry still prevails. Your wife handles this scenario quite cleverly. I found this well penned true story flash to be a very pleasant, promising contest entry.
Best Wishes!

Haha, I liked this story. The heartwarming moment was well placed and the sibling dynamic seemed very realistic and well written. Great work with this short piece.

Awe, that's a play with words, but I just wonder how it is to be construed. A clever and lovely entry for this short flash. I loved it.Sometimes it's good to have had one child only as this will never be an issue. Good luck with little gem. Ulla:)))

I think a mothers favorite changes from time to time . It is always the one that is being the sweetest and most reasonable one at any given moment. LOL God knows we don't love one more than the other. Ever! Well done, Bill. Nancy:)
