Life, death and the continuous struggle for faith and survival. Billy goes through all these phases scared but not alone, because God, grandpa and Cathy are watching over him. There is more in life than in death, so he must survive for the love of his unborn child.

Hello Cathy and Bill,
Nice piece of Romance Fiction in continuation having captivating flow throughout from the beginning to the end - End working as the HOOK which, as usual, is worth following strategy.
The story is moving forward depicting thrill, humor, and an uncertain future.
These lines are particularly noteworthy:
( 1 ) "I was feeling guilty, Bill."
"About what?" I asked.
"Kissing your girlfriend in school. My boots . . . get 'em off."
( 2 ) God then spoke again, "Although your heart may bleed, don't lose your will. When in doubt, know I am here and your family is back home for you. Hold fast to your faith--It will see you through."
I'm eagerly waiting for Chapter 30.

I've been waiting for the water to break for a long time. Now it's time for the arrival of a girl or boy. I'll be waiting for the next chapter to read....probably you'll have twins. The Christmas walk brought on your labor....water's arrival.

I liked this descriptive story of what it's like in war or being home while a loved one is at war. I liked the way you talked about the battle. I think the best parts though were the dialogue it felt real and the first line pulled me in. Good luck with the book.

Hi there, to both of you. This is a great continuation to the story and I like the way it shows the scenes from Vietnam contrasting with the peaceful scenes of Christmas back home. All best. Ulla:)))

HI again!
I"d put the sound of the gunfire in italics. I have no idea why I"d do that, so take it or leave it, as with all my suggestions. lol
Ol' Glory waving >> wavin', just to stay consistent in dialogue
I'd never be the same with all I've seen and done >> I'd never be the same with all I'(d) seen and done
I may survive the bullets, but will I ever survive the horror? >> Great ine.
OH, I miss those Christmas specials... :)
Thank you for the great continuation of the book.
Blessings to you both,
Deb

Hi again! Thanks for stopping by to read and review this chapter. We really appreciate your comments and suggestions here. The gunfire is in italics--we agree! (Maybe it doesn't appear in italics because of the font choice?) We also changed waving to wavin' (Thank you again!) We're glad you are enjoying the book. Chapter 30 is already written and coming soon. Have a wonderful upcoming weekend, Deb. Take care and God Bless.

I can tell just from your notes and passages that you've put a lot of heart into this story. This is my first read of your novel, odd as it is to start at Chapter 25, I really enjoyed what I've read so far. Keep it up and I look forward to reviewing more from this story and your writing.

Chapter 29, tells it like it is when it comes to being in the midst of any
battle during any war or confrontation. Your words are well-chosen,
descriptive, and succinct. So many will never know how these situations
affect the ones there long after the 'war' is over. You did a great job
describing some of those feelings and how Bill wrestles with his faith.
The ending with a new life about to come into the world was great--especially at Christmas time.

Nah...First baby? Plenty of time for Andy. Baby might like it :). Lovin' this story while sitting on the edge of my seat. You know, I can't help but think that Bill's war buddies would be glad to be remembered and immortalized in these writings. I bet Mark is smiling right now.
Thank you for recounting your rich memories for us to enjoy and learn from.
Well done!
