I like this poem- haiku 5/7/5 - good presentation- pretty pictures- flows very well- paints a perfect transitional picture- after the rain - the aroma of the wet ground swelling in the air- and the flowers bending as if to smell- excellent job!

Beautifully written 5-7-5. Your illustration is a perfect fit for your words, making the read even more enjoyable. I read this after the contest closed but your win was well-deserved.

After the cool rain
I had to read through the piece a time or two for I was confused and missing the meaning, but then suddenly I looked at the flower in the picture and understood the flower was smelling the earth after a rain. That is such a wonderful notion that plants n nature are more than they appear to be.

Thank you very much. I'm happy you got the meaning of the haiku. I hate it when I can't understand a poem.

Your poem met the criteria, and your poem made me smile. Which is hard to do these days. Thank you for this delightful poem. The picture compliments your words, my only suggestion is to put more contrast between your font and background. Your poem is hard to read for us older folks.

Very well done 5-7-5 prompt entry. Best of luck in the contest. Your descriptive words mirror the artwork very well. Nature is a wonderment in it's beauty. Best regards.

It is true that after the rain that the wet earth's smell is sweeter and stronger, like a newborn baby after their bath. The bluebells are so pretty as they bend to take a whiff!
Good luck with the contest~

I really, really, like this poem and the photograph! How well you described it, so much so that I could smell the smells even though I'm indoors surrounded by scented candles! Good job!

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem about the rain that brings a fresh smell from the ground and the blue bells bend down to smell the aroma from the wet ground coming up from the earth.

The air usually does have an alluring smell after a rain. You have made excellent use of your seventeen syllables, also of rhyme, alliteration, and personification in your lovely poem.
