This 3-7-5, Rainy Nights, has the proper formatting and brings back the childhood perspective of what fun is and where it's found.

Rainy Nights is a good name. It fits perfectly! Being done in
all dark shadows seems to set the mood. And it does seem that it makes you feel like a kid again wanting to jump in the puddles.

Rainy nights do give way for fun things to return to memory. Puddles are wonderful. I went out of my way to find them!

This is a good entry for the 3-7-5 writing contests. Good luck.

There are many things we do as children that we do not as adults. Sometimes it takes a rainy day to make us remember a time when things were easier.

Good imagery GBR!

It recalls splashing in puddles in the day time or riding (to/from grammar school) my two-wheeler through the water. The Rainy Night image is a perfect companion to your 3-7-5 writing prompt.

How many puddles have I leaped into in my 60 some years. I still step without jumping into them as I can no longer lift my weight in joy. Very well done 3-7-5 poem entry. Best of luck.

A very well-written 3-7-5 poem about rainy nights that reminds us of our childhood days when we jump from puddle to puddle for fun.and getting dirty as much as we possibly can.

Yes kids always see the best in rain and it never bothers them like it bothers adults who grow tiresome of rainfall, especially in Britain where it rains all the time, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

And as adults, we avoid them for fear of ruining our shoes. Good use of assonance in the last line. Oh to be that age again where puddles and piles of autumn leaves provided merriment.

I have a grand photo of my son puddle jumping when he was about 4. Yellow rain jacket, red boots - huge splash. His face said it all. I tried to stop him, but at the last minute thought "why not!?" Beautiful image and words. I have a link to a poetry site that offers challenges. It is one I participate in every once in a while - I have a more regular one. But this one a week or so was offering Japanese Poetic Forms. It might be fun to just check it out. https://dversepoets.com/2020/05/21/mtb-5-line-japanese-poetic-forms/ The challenge is probably expired by now, but it might be fun to read the poems submitted. They also have Haibun Monday's a couple times (or maybe once) a month.

I can almost see your child's picture. It sounds amazing. My grandson likes to jump in puddles and do dishes... LoL anything to do with water.

Thank you very much for the information on that site. I love Japanese poetry. I will check it out.

Thank you very much for your review.
