This one-hundred-fifty-word story, Gardenavirus Hits the Garden, has a neat parody story that has a hopeful and happy ending as this current crisis will as well.

I can picture your story as a child's cartoon, and it has that touch of innocence. This is definitely makes it more comprehensible for little ones. Well done.

Hello
An interesting entry for the Once upon a time.... writing prompt contest.
A good childrens' story of about 150 words about a pandemic. The story is amusing and probably would capture the child's interest but with a sense of what a pandemic is.

This is a good candidate for the Once upon a time contest... children like flowers and interact with them easily, making daisy chains, stripping petals for "he loves me" poetry, etc. Therefore, I think they will find it easy to imagine them with human attributes.

no outside pay or flying. "play" ?
I certainly hope real-life mimics this cute children's fairytale. Maybe a bit more detail describing the flower garden would have been nice but certainly not necessary. Well see, there is a word limit and you hit 150 on the head. So nevermind.

Thank you for catching the spelling error. Ironic, isn't it. Not a Freudian slip at ALL. lol.
I had to cut and cut to get this to 150. I agree -- description is sadly lacking, but I may rewrite it after the contest for a kids magazine submission. :)
Thank you so much for reading and reviewing the story! I appreciate you.

I think children will like this story and truly understand why Magnolia had to stay in her hollow so long. The happy ending will please them, too. Rod

Spelling error there with 'pay' should be play I think. I don't find the story funny but it is sweet. The message is clear and easy for a child to understand. It does capture some emotion. The ending is nice. The presentation is good.

Your contest entry, Mystery Author reads well. I believe kids will enjoy it and understand how when one (or more) is sick things change. I like the flowers/fairies you included. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully there is an end in sight like that of your story.
no outside pay [ play ] or flying
Respectfully, Jan

Comment from Gloria ....
I think this little story is perfectly told for very young children. The idea of viral spread well shown among the flowers, the social isolation illustrated with cold rocks and of course the best of all, the resolution when all can come out and play again.
An excellent entry into this contest and I wish you great luck in the voting booth.
