I especially enjoyed the line 'Only the stars were higher that night', and how it starts with 'Over the moon' and ends with 'Under the Milky Way...' with the romance sandwiched in between. Fantastic acrostic which doubles back and ends with the moon. I also notice your attention to iamb and this poem is a joy to read aloud - nice inner rhyme and near rhyme. I also like the story woven throughout.
