I can tell you're having fun with this, Sandra. As I keep saying, although you are writing this for a much younger market, I'm enjoying it immensely. I don't fancy being a hippo in the birth department though - nine pounds was enough for me!

I just hate to hear of animals becoming
extinct. So sad, and unnecessary.
You've written this beautifully...so
much information here, that I never knew.
As always...the picture is awesome!!
Great job,
blessings...

Thank you much for reading letter H, Judy, I'm delighted you enjoyed it. I'm discovering so many of our wonderful animals, all God's creatures, are becoming extinct because of man. It's not right, and so sad. Have a lovely day, my friend. :)) Sandra

You too Miss Sandra, Happy Memorial Day!
Comment from Louise Michelle
Well, I certainly learned something about the Hippo. How strange that they're so big and eat only grass. This is another delightful poem, Sandra. And all the facts and accompanying photos were terrific. Hugs, Lou

This was not only vert entertaining, it was very informative. That these awesome creatures face the possibility of becoming extinct, should be a crime. Who are what is beyond man's desire and ability to destroy. Even other men are at risk.

Another great addition, my lady! :) They are fun animals even though I wouldn't want to meet one in person - lol! Fun-fact: their dung is a wonderful thing for the river enviroment (yeah, that stuck in my head from one of the hundreds of trips to a zoo or something we took the boys to when they were young!). Thanx, as always, for sharing -- waiting for 'I'! ;) ) Yvette
P.S. I think the hippo in your first pic may be dead... those are vultures gathering around it... (I apologize if that is not the case..)

Thank you so much for reading letter H, Yvette. No, he's very much alive, and lives in a zoo in Australia. Those aren't vultures, they are too small and vultures have long hairless necks to be able to get right into the inside of the dead animal. Lovely birds, :( but vital all the same. I'll be doing a piece on him when we get to V. Don't tell anyone, it's a secret! lol. Big hugs, my friend! :)) Sandra xxx

I quite like your little story. I am assuming it is part of a book you are writing for your grandson. He should love it! I found it informative and fun to read myself.
I have a suggestion for you and your grandson if he likes playing games. Currently, I am creating a checker game for my church where you place 6 question marks on the spaces, three per person, anywhere on the board but not together. As you play if you wanna land on the question mark the other player has to ask you a question from a stack of cards you will have laying out. The cards are about one subject, like your animals. If the player gets the answer correct they can make the move if they do not then they have to make a different move.
The activity would be fun for your grandson and you and it would get him to practice reading and have fun doing it.

What a great idea! I had planned on having a blank page after each animal so they could look for more fun facts to add to each one. I'm going to have to look into your idea. I think anything that helps them to learn, and enjoy doing it, is the way to go. Than you so very much for this lovely review and helpful ideas! I really appreciated it. Have a lovely day! :)) Sandra xx

no problem, I always had issues with learning when I was young and this would have gotten me to spend time on the subject just because it's fun...

LOL! Their little legs must weigh a ton! I wouldn't want them stepping on my toe! LOL. Yes, I think we have to make sure they are left alone to thrive, once they're gone that will be it. People can be so stupid at times! I wonder how they'd feel if the animals hunted them! Thank you for another wonderful review, dear friend, I'm so pleased you enjoyed this one as well. I've a long way to go. Love you lots! Biggest hugs, Sandra. xxxx
