Oh, I like the humor in this. Yes, I don't buy much cereal at all anymore - fresh fruit and eggs and oatmeal. That's not even "Life". ha. I can find no fault with this 5-7-5 poem. :)

Smart, smart, smart. And how did you ever create the image from different Google images. Although I love the humor and intelligence in your words, that imaging thing impressed me most.
I think that you have a winner. It's perfect as written and would have a great chance of winning. If it were me though, I'd add stronger words in a couple of places--like
My kids bellyache,
"This new cereal brand sucks."
I point (grin, smirk), "Well, that's Life."

Thank you for the fantastic review, Debbie. I use an art program called Gimp. It's free to download on the internet. This is actually four different pictures. First, the boy is really looking at a plate of cut fruit. The table with the bowl had a little girl over it but I didn't like her expression as much. The cereal is another layer that I cropped, sized and put a shadow under. Then, the bowl didn't have anything in it at first, so I found a pic of cereal, shrunk it down, erased what I needed to to make it look like it's really there. And that's how I did it. I love playing with my art program nearly as much as writing. Lol. I really appreciate the generous stars, Deb. I'll give the suggestions some thought. I like the idea that the parent smirks. Lol. Have a great weekend.

Whoa! That sounds so complex! You describe the process well, but that is complicated--particularly with the shadowing. Gimp would be so helpful with my presentations, but it isn't happening.
    I'm in awe.

It's not really that hard. Just learn the little tricks it offers and you can come up with nearly anything you want. I use it for almost all of my posts for things like centering or anything else. Just find the pictures you want in Google, copy and paste them into your computer, then open that file in the art program. Make as many layers as you need and size and erase how you want it to look. All shading is is using the airbrush tool and lightly spraying on the layer under what you want to have a shadow on. The program is incredible, with unlimited potential. I can't see how they can just give it away for free. Just look up "Gimp Free Download" and you can get it. I forgot where I actually downloaded it from but I'm sure you can find it somewhere. If you like art at all, you'll love it. All you do is just play with it and learn what different things do and how to manipulate what you're working with. It's free, you can't lose. If you do get it you can contact me and I'll try to help any way I can. You'll have to wait until this blind contest is over to see my name but then you can get ahold of me if interested. I can't give that program enough praise. It's awesome. Have a great day, Deb.

Can't hurt to try. I might pick up a few computer skills along the way. Actually, I'll wait until my sister-in-law gets here. She would love it, too, and she's much more computer savvy than me.
    Thank you.

Oh yes! Definitely, your son is right. A lot of cereals DO suck, and after the sucking is over, they become all soggy and not tasty at all! And you are right too, of course, because sucking...yes, that's life! Good 5-7-5
