Hello eStory,
I pray you and your family are well during this pandemic. You wrote such a beautiful testament within your poem of farmers in their struggles and many successes on the farm. I always felt that farming was hard work; working long hours and still trying to raise their family. I appreciate you sharing all the other things in the farmer's life, like weddings, baptizing their children and burying their dead. This a well-penned poem with emphasis on heart and love. Well-done, eStory. I found no errors. Thanks and happy writing:-)

Hello my friend
Lovely poem in honor of farmers. There is something very rewarding with the farming life. And we need them to survive. They are suffering now.well done.

I like this free verse that has a clear, focused message about the farmers hard life of clearing the land and being productive and passing it on to the next generation. Thanks for sharing. Bill

"overlooking the promise of its fields"... a comma at end of fields?
thanked God for the blessings of sunshine, (remove the)?
and then stood up and sang, (remove then)?
or you could put a (,) after altar and write "stood up and sang"
and you could then write as one sentence
stood up and sang, holding hands in the light.
Just some thoughts. I do like this free-verse (it's my favorite form of poetry.

Farmers are a class of people all their own. The farmers I have known are like the folks you have portrayed so far. They are hardworking, sensible and God fearing people. You are writing a classic work about the families America cannot live without.

I like your writing, especially what you write in here. Somehow it reminds me of how some of my ancestors were like, their land, their religion. I grew up with my grandmother and I saw in her what you are saying in here. My honor.

I can't tell you how much I just
love this.
I love the simplicity.
You have told their lives, you
have told all their hopes and dreams,
their very reasons for being.
Beautifully worded!
It makes me happy!
Blessings...

Your stripped down style and phrasing conveys the hard life of toil, speaks of promise and deliverance, faith and continuity. Testament is a good title for it, conveying the depth of faith and also bearing witness to how the land is worked and utilised as a lifestyle through the honest toil of generations.

A very well-written part three of your series. I have a few family members who are farmers and I know how they sometimes struggle and pray for rain at the right time. Ther heritage they leave behind for their children is precious.
